Thalia and Kaveh sneaked over toward Sutter’s Fort Historical Park, where they encountered a trio of Tremere digging for artifacts. Kaveh managed to incapacitate a woman with a silenced pistol (Cheri), while Thalia tracked the other two (Theo, the goon, and Leon, the one in charge) to a Ramen Shop. They were waiting for someone there. Earlier she’d heard them mention the name Irene, and soon enough a woman with white hair and a silver sword appeared.
They reported what happened:
- they were ambushed by a blacksmith and a Brujah
- Cheri was torpored
- and that the relics they’d dug up were stolen
“Great, we’ve lost a night with nothing to show but some hostage that’s gonna rot in some Anarch torture chamber. Awesome. We’re not gonna be able to kill the old man and his clan at this rate.”
Leon shakes his head. “We’re still making progress. The Archmage is so senile that James took one of his relics without him noticing. He’s got a dozen of them now, it’ll be time before he figures out one’s missing. Once we get to the bottom of what they are, and why he wants them so bad, the Tremere’s done.”
Thalia and Kaveh reunited at the park, then headed to meet with Neres to turn in the relics. As a reward for their work, she’d grant Thalia something to help protect her, and for Kaveh a ritual to speed up his creation. Per her request, though, they left Cheri with her.
Finally, Neres agreed to allow Kaveh to come by sometime and study the relics they’d retrieved, should their schedules align.
