Simon summoned Gabriela and Kiryu to The Ziggurat to suppress a protest and kill Holly Zantosa. Simon managed to cast a magical ritual and telekinetically place a penny on Holly’s person such that the crowd turned on her, and Kiryu took that as a cue to start shooting. Simon lit Holly on fire with his mind, and despite Jane’s best efforts, she was slain.
Then, something weird happened:
Simon: One moment, Jane had her hand on Holly’s corpse, then the crowd blocked his view. When he next saw her, the fire was out, a faint layer of ash clings to her skin, and the corpse is gone.
Gabriela: She just used vicissitude. She’s heard rumors of practitioners of high skill being able to extinguish fire by expelling burning tissue. That confirms the clan of these Zantosas. More importantly, she can see that a suspiciously Holly shaped protrusion is attached to Jane’s back. The Masquerade is very thankful for Simon’s devil’s touch and the gunshots right about now.
Gabriela recalls that only a few enclaves of Zantosa are still persisting in the Americas. These are clearly organized, properly Tzimisce bred Zantosa. That implies that these two are probably working with a pack.
