Then, she pocketed a shell bracelet and a long wooden pipe. As she tried to escape, she was spotted by a pair of Thaumaturges, but managed—by the skin of her teeth, covered in mud, grinning ear to ear—to escape and report back to Neres.
Kingsnake told her about the Thaumaturgists, and how they seemed to be Tremere. One wore a Sacramento State sweatshirt while the other seemed a bodyguard of some kind. When she asked, Neres admitted she didn’t fully understand the significance of the relics yet. But more important than that, Neres was proud of Phoebe1.
