Nestled within Old Sacramento, the Sacramento History Museum aims to preserve and provide education about the the city’s storied past. Its primary exhibits center around the Nisenan indigenous people, the upheaval caused by California’s gold rush, and the urbanization of the central valley region during this time. As of recent, the museum offers evening tours, many of which the museum’s new curator personally guides.
