Title by Kaveh’s Player
Following a lead from Roger Sukui, Kaveh and Jensen found themselves at a centuries old monastery looking for rituals. Kaveh distracted the groundskeeper while Jensen sneaked toward the library.
Along the way to the chapel, Kaveh noticed the well tended grave of one Mercutio Giovanni. At the same time, Jensen found an account of Mercutio’s life.
Mercutio is described as a devout Catholic who never missed a Mass. Someone who gave a lot to the church and was responsible for funding the monastery’s efforts in times of need. By all accounts, a respectable man.
Kaveh apparently knew the man once, and placed a coin before the grave to pay his respects, something Jensen had read would allow one to feel him smiling upon them.
As Kaveh sets down the coin, Jensen feels the spiritual presence magnify, as if something has awakened. Rising from the headstone, the vague, translucent outline of a man manifests. The man is bald, plump and looks to be in good spirits. The man takes a brief look at the two Kindred before him. “My children, have you…” He pauses, looking a little closer. “You’re not my children. Or my family. Who are you two Cainites?”
They learned that his family, the Giovanni, didn’t visit him very often. Though, when asked about rituals, he pointed them toward his favorite niece, Fiora Milliner. Though, she only visited when she needed something, and she’d strayed from the faith. He asked them to call her back, allowing them to call upon the boon she owed him if need be.
